The Lunchbox London has been working diligently to provide healthy food bundles to families with kids in school. We have partnered with Urban Roots London, who have graciously donated produce to our cause on a weekly basis. Allow us to introduce our friends:
Urban Roots is a non-profit organization that revitalizes underused land in the City of London for agriculture by:
Producing high-quality, organic vegetables and herbs
Distributing produce locally, directly to consumers and to private and social enterprises
Developing agricultural opportunities for the neighbourhood, social enterprises, and community organizations within the City of London
Growing a self-sustaining, urban agricultural model to germinate to new sites
Urban Roots London has also committed to donating at least 33% of their produce to local charitable organizations, and distributing at least 33% of their produce at affordable rates (50% of market value) to social enterprises and directly to individuals within the neighbourhood.
